What are the planters made from?
All our timber planters are made from pressure-treated redwood, a hardwearing timber chosen for its natural durability and resistance to the British weather. Every piece of end-grain is individually treated to provide an extra layer of protection against moisture penetration, which is one of the most common causes of premature wear in outdoor timber products.
How long will a wooden planter last outdoors?
A well-made, pressure-treated timber planter can last 10–15 years or more when properly constructed. Our use of treated end-grain and a built-in damp proof membrane (DPM) means the planters are built to the highest standard and ensure it lasts.
Do the planters come treated or will I need to maintain them?
The timber we use is pressure-treated before the construction of the product, so it arrives ready for outdoor use without any additional treatment needed. Like all outdoor timber, occasional re-treatment over the years will help maintain its appearance, but the pressure treatment means it's protected from the ground up, not just on the surface.
